Fliss NewtonI currently work in Whanganui  on Tues/Wed and Palmerston North on Mon/Thurs. I have skills and experience with adults, children and adolescents including Lesbian, Gay and Bi-Sexual.

My specialist areas include Sexual Abuse & Trauma, including male survivors, and I have cultural experience with Maori, Samoan, NZ European Pakeha.

Jane Parsons

jane parsonsMy profession is Social Work and I specialise in working with children’s, adolescents’ and parents’ emotional health through Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I have worked with youth organisations and in all areas of mental health services (adult, inpatient, outpatient and child, youth and family mental health services).

I have completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Social Service Supervision (Hons), a Bachelor of Social Work (HOns, Massey Scholar) and Masters of Philosophy (Social Policy) as well as additional training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy from Behavioural Tech, U.S.A.

Nici is a qualified counsellor (MNZAC, MNZCCA), and has worked in agency settings for over 7 years and now also in private practice.   She has both a Diploma in Counselling from Laidlaw College and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Counselling & Guidance) with Merit from Massey University.  She is studying towards qualifications in Neuro Linguistic Programming, and looking to continue her Masters in Health Science or Counselling.

Based in Palmerston North, Nici works holistically, and incorporates health and wellbeing approaches into her work.  Nici calls on a wide variety of modalities in her work including talk therapy, mindfulness, body work, cognitive behavioural therapy, focusing, and explores life through the narratives we weave into life.   Nici is also an internationally trained and qualified Holistic Lifestyle Coach and Nutrition Therapist. She has also trained in career counselling and is able to support people in career decisions. Nici has worked with extensively with trauma, PTSD, and sexual abuse for 7 years.

Owner/Practitioner of Tautoko Solutionz Counselling Practice at, 1st floor, Grand Hotel Building, Palmerston North but also work from an office in Feilding,  but prior arrangement is required.
I work with adults from age 18, including, men and women, Maori and Pakeha NZers, Whanau, people of other cultures who would like a Maori Practitioner and am experienced working with people of diverse sexual orientation and people who have disability/ Mental Health issues

Style of Practice –

I work with people in a relaxed way, I am a compassionate and insightful Practitioner, taking learnings from my upbringing and Maori world view and combining with the training and experience that I have learnt along my journey.

I tend to train annually in this topic of sensitive issues, so that I stay upskilled in my work.
I am passionate about helping people and feel that if I can use my skills and insight to help a person in their healing then I am doing what I am supposed to do.

I am of course, covered by the NZ Association of Counsellors Code of Ethics in the first instance and this means that it is a priority for me that I work in a safe, ethical and confidential way with people.
